2020 Sulphur Cap
Update on charges related to the usage of Low Sulphur Fuel Oil
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has introduced new regulations restricting all sea-going vessels to use fuel with máximum 0,5% Sulphur content.
The new regulations will come into force on 1st January 2020.
In order to recover the additional costs associated with the IMO 2020 regulations, the Fuel Recovery Charge (FRC) from December 2019 onwards, will be based on the costs of the Low Sulphur Fuel Oil 0,5%.
